Interning for the first time ...

When my supervisor Handi Qawasmi asked me last week to write an article about my internship at CHF  International so she can post it on the CHF's blog I had no idea what to write about. Instead of dwelling on it I decided to write what I know for sure, what I learned interning at CHF's office in Ramallah.

Being punctual is important and it means that you respect others, also you'll be avoiding that weird look of the people's in the office.

Dressing up in the morning is difficult when going to your fist job or internship, on my first day I spent an hour and a half trying to figure out what to wear. Which is not the most important thing in the world when compared to my ability to create and achieve but to my new fresh inexperienced mind this was a vip.

The only thing that helped me survive the long hours of work on translating dozens of pages was the fact that I had good coworkers a the office who made it real easy most of the time.

do things on time and don't delay even though I still do sometimes, but it is important and yes I know we all heard it and our parents and teachers told us

Team work helps , it's a cliché but it does. Brain storming does it especially if you are stuck on the last  few pages or on one term or two, the team then helped greatly.

Read and try to get to know your work and organization before you got there and actually start.

Put a work plan ahead of time and stick to it.

Working on green building is amazing, there is that great feeling of accomplishment and sense of responsibility towards nature and my own home land. The more information I got on the comic book I was working on and the green building topics the more crazy about the environment I got, I used to go home and test everything I learned in my home and family which only drove them even more crazy than normal.

After 5 month of interning at chf I can say that I am glad and lucky to be there it was truly an amazing opportunity for me to grow and learn, practice. And so much more...
